The name of the hiker who died while climbing near Bridal Veil Falls is released
Provo, Utah — The Utah County Sheriff’s Office released the name of a hiker who fell to his death near Bridal Veil Falls Saturday afternoon.
According to a Tweet from Sgt. Spencer Cannon with the Utah County Sheriff’s Office, Adrian Vanderklis died while climbing near Bridal Veil Falls with his fiancée’s 9-year-old son.
Around 7:00 PM Saturday evening, a call came into the Sheriff’s Office with reports that Vanderklis had gone missing. Later he was found dead on a vertical cliff half a mile west of the falls.
At this time the exact cause of the fall remains unknown, but it appears that he had died immediately after falling.
It was too dark for SAR teams to recover his body, so the operation had to be postponed to Sunday morning.
