Local musicians playing Christmas music at Salt Lake City International Airport
Salt Lake City, Utah – Salt Lake City International Airport provided a unique service to help alleviate some of the stress associated with air travel.
Throughout the terminal, the airport has positioned several local musicians playing Christmas music.
Kristeen Polhamus, an accomplished pianist in Salt Lake Valley, performed for several hours on Christmas Eve, set up in front of the Canyon art piece inside the airport.
Polhamus said each year she performs, people thank her.
“It’s a special spirit here. It’s all these people – a soldier on a journey, and if I have in some way made it a little easier, that’s what I like about it. I’ve done something today and I go home and think about that and believe that I made a difference,” she said.
According to Polhamus, she’s spent the past 10 years performing at the airport on Christmas Eve.
While the airport is different than it’s been in the past, the task is always the same: inspiring others through music.
