Governor Cox supports Celeste Maloy in the 2nd District primary in Utah

Salt Lake City, Utah – Celeste Maloy received Gov. Spencer Cox’s endorsement in the Republican primary contest for Utah’s 2nd Congressional District.
“We don’t want more Washington in Utah, we need to send more of Utah to Washington,” the governor said.
Cox added: “She shows up for Utah, fighting to protect our border and stop the reckless spending that is driving up the cost of everything from gas to groceries.”
Maloy is a candidate for reelection in the 2nd District, which includes the western desert and southwest region of Utah. Following Rep. Chris Stewart’s resignation last year due to his wife’s health concerns, she was elected in a special election.
Colby Jenkins is Maloy’s principal opponent as she runs for her first full term in Congress.
The Republican Primary victor will face Democrat Nathaniel Woodward, Constitution Party candidate Cassie Easley, and unaffiliated candidate Tyler Murset in November’s general election.
A day after former President Donald Trump offered Maloy his “complete and total” backing, Cox now offers his support.
Legislator Phil Lyman of Blanding is another state representative running against Cox. The date of the Republican Primary is June 25.
