Crews in Herriman put out a grass fire caused by a downed power line, saving a nearby home

Herriman, Utah – On Sunday, Unified Fire Authority crews managed to put out a grass fire in Herriman, preventing it from encroaching on an adjacent house.
Capt. Tony Baker of Unified Fire said that at approximately nine in the morning on Sunday, someone called to report a downed power line that had started a fire.
When firefighters got to the scene, they discovered that a nearby property was in danger due to the fire, which had started close to 7500 West and Main Street.
Crews used “heroic” methods and fought the fire aggressively, which allowed them to put out the fire, which Baker estimated to be roughly two acres.
According to Baker, wildland fire crews were called to the scene to assist with cleanup and make sure the fire did not start again. The fire did not result in any recorded damages or injuries.
