Celebrating 25 Years: Loveland Living Planet Aquarium’s Party on the Plaza event
Draper, Utah – This summer, Loveland Living Planet Aquarium will be celebrating 25 years in business with an anniversary bash complete with food trucks, dancing, live music, and admission to the aquarium.
Join us on Saturday, June 15, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., for the “Party on the Plaza” celebration. The venue will be the Rio Tinto Kennecott Plaza in Draper, Utah, which is situated at 12033 South Lone Peak Parkway.
“Don’t forget your favorite blanket or lawn chair to enjoy live music performances from local Utah bands, the Rockees, and Trash Panda Drum Group, while you chow down on a delicious meal from one of the many food trucks,” a press release from the aquarium states. “Take home life-long memories with the 360-degree photo booth to finish out the night. This event is not just about us. It’s about our community coming together to celebrate 25 years of marine education and conservation in our desert home.”
Enjoy a variety of activities at this family-friendly event, including face painting and stomp lights that change colors. Furthermore, there are rumors that a limited-edition aquarium beach ball will be given out to the first 500 attendees.
The “Aqua Van,” a mobile classroom that explored Utah to educate children about marine life, was established in 1999 by aquarium CEO Brent Andersen. The press release states that since then, the aquarium has allegedly had three physical locations; the most recent of these being the Draper location, which will reportedly increase in size once the Science Learning Center is finished.
Education has withstood the test of time and has continued to be the heart of the organization. The press statement boasts that the Aquarium’s education staff has expanded its outreach activities to include a fleet of nine vans, allowing them to visit every fourth-grade school in Utah.
It is time for Utahns to relish in the summer.
