All downtown companies should benefit from the rising wave of the Utah NHL
Salt Lake City, Utah – Businesses in downtown Salt Lake City may experience a boost in commerce due to the impending arrival of a new NHL club in Utah.
“We have the space. We have the kitchen; we have the bar to accommodate everyone,” said Markus Ericksen, STK Steakhouse manager.
Salt Lake City’s STK Steakhouse is prepared to welcome the NHL. The NHL team from Utah will have a temporary home in the Delta Center, which is located across the street from the restaurant.
“We are excited to welcome in — with arms wide open — the hockey team,” said Ericksen.
Ericksen is aware that a hockey league could be a fantastic addition to a downtown that is expanding.
“We are excited; we saw a lot of great walk-in business because of the games with the jazz,” said Ericksen.
Twenty million people visit downtown Salt Lake City each year, according to the Downtown Alliance.
“I think having more entertainment grounded in downtown is good for the economy as a whole,” said Dee Brewer, Downtown Alliance executive director.
The immediate downtown area has two hundred and twenty restaurants and pubs.
According to Brewer, the presence of a National Hockey League franchise will boost both consumer spending and traffic.
“The downtown economy is in evolution,” said Brewer.
“It’s going to be absolutely wonderful for everyone – Families, people that like to have a good time, hitting downtown for drinks – regardless of what it is, we are in the right direction,” said Ericksen.
The restaurant’s goal is to give customers an enjoyable eating experience, as STK says as the hockey club gets ready to drop the puck in Salt Lake this autumn. “We are here to bring the vibe, have a good time, make sure people are excited about being downtown, and have a great time—a safe time,” said Ericksen.
