Utah Celebrating 125 Years With Simultaneous Fireworks From Each County

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Beehive State is celebrating its 125 years of statehood.

On Jan. 4, 1896, President Grover Cleveland signed a proclamation declaring Utah as the 45th state.

In honor of the anniversary, the state has some special celebrations in store throughout the day.

The events are called “Thrive 125,” and they’ll include a television special and fireworks show.

The TV special begins at 6:30 p.m. on KSL TV and will feature performances by a number of popular Utah artists.

After that, fireworks will launch simultaneously across all 29 of Utah’s counties.
