Salt Lake City, Utah – According to recent court filings, the Provo OB-GYN who was accused of sexually assaulting almost 100 women is now facing further felony charges.

Accusations of invasive tests and sexual assault against 77-year-old David Broadbent date back to the 1970s and are related to both his personal practice and other Utah hospitals. On Tuesday, January 14, 2025, three new documents pertaining to three different incidents were approved for filing.

According to the new documents, Broadbent faces one count of forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony, and twelve counts of object rape, a first-degree felony.

Between 2014 and 2016, the same patient saw Broadbent on nine separate occasions for object rape. According to records, the woman claimed that Broadbent ignored her complaints that he was abusing her and instead used his fingers to sexually touch her over multiple visits.

Another document described two charges of object rape, which allegedly occurred between 2020 and 2021. Broadbent is charged with using his fingers following a pap smear and during a prenatal examination.

According to the charges of object rape and forcible sexual abuse, Broadbent is accused of inappropriately using his fingers and placing his hand on the victim’s genitalia during a prenatal visit in 2018.

According to court documents, Broadbent failed to record any medical justification for the acts that resulted in the charges during a number of occurrences. A number of individuals reportedly claimed to have experienced discomfort during the episodes.

In connection with a 2020 appointment, Broadbent was charged with one count of felony object rape in November 2024, marking his most recent court appearance.
