Teenage boy succumbed to his injuries after a fatal go-cart versus vehicle accident in Mapleton
Mapleton, Utah — A 13-year-old boy is dead after a fatal go-cart versus vehicle accident in Mapleton.
According to police, the collision happened at the intersection of Aspen Drive (1500 East) and Dogwood Drive (400 South).
A Mapleton Fire Paramedic arrived at the scene of the collision within four minutes.
According to the First Responder, the boy was found unresponsive in the roadway. He was not breathing and resuscitation efforts were performed. The teen was later transported to Utah Valley Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The driver involved in the accident is cooperating with officials.
Mapleton City Public Safety Department said they will not release the name of the teen as they work with the family.
