Red Cross and Tetris partner to increase blood donations
Salt Lake City, Utah – Given the success of the Red Cross and Peanuts campaign, blood donors now have the chance to obtain an additional limited-edition-themed t-shirt.
One of the most well-known and successful video games, Tetris, has partnered with the American Red Cross to commemorate the game’s 40th anniversary and increase the availability of blood for patients in need.
While supplies last, every Utahn who donates blood through the American Red Cross between Monday, May 20, and Sunday, June 9, will get the special t-shirt.
Furthermore, contributors will be immediately qualified to win a two-person trip to New York to meet with Tetris creator Alexey Pajitnov.
All blood types are being requested by the Red Cross, but those with the common blood type O are urgently needed.
The American Red Cross hopes that potential donors will arrange an appointment in advance of the hectic summer months when their schedules are packed with events and vacations.
Donors can schedule appointments via redcrossblood.org, the Red Cross Blood Donor App, or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS (733-2767).
