New Wildfire In Beaver County Threatens Minersville Reservoir & Campground
BEAVER COUNTY, Utah — Crews are responding to a new wildfire located near Minersville Reservoir in Beaver County.
The Greenville Fire was originally estimated at 300 acres, but officials later said it grew to 1,800 acres.
Officials said Minersville Reservoir and Minersville Lake Campground are being threatened.
The campground was evacuated, according to Emergency Services Director for Beaver County, Les Whitney.
Whitney also said no structures have been lost, but a number of structures are being threatened.
Fire crews are protecting a number of houses north and along the east side of Minersville Lake.
The Beaver County Sheriff’s Office said SR-21 is closed in the area due to the fire.
The Beaver County Commission confirmed no structures or trailers were damaged at the Minersville Lake Campground due to the blaze, but it did take out the powerline.
