I-80 shut down in Summit County

Summit County, Utah — Due to a hazmat incident on Tuesday afternoon, both directions of Interstate 80 in Summit County were shut down.
At mile marker 150 west of Wanship in Silver Creek Canyon, the highway was completely closed.
Around 8 p.m., eastbound I-80 was reopened Westbound remained closed, but now at mile marker 155 at State Route 32.
Photos shared by the Park City Fire District show an overturned semi-truck on the road.
According to a spokesperson with the Utah Highway Patrol, the truck was carrying a liquid peroxide, which caused the hazmat protocols. Residents in the Tollgate area are being told to stay in place and indoors until further notice.
Emergency crews estimate eastbound lanes could open before 6:30 p.m., while westbound lanes may remain closed until later Tuesday evening.
