Authorities are gearing up for significant developments at Ogden-Hinckley Airport set to commence this January
Ogden, Utah – Officials are diligently engaged in expansion initiatives at the Ogden-Hinckley airport following the announcement of the return of commercial flights.
Bradley Cacciacarne from Nibley frequently travels to California, using the Ogden-Hinckley airport for his regular commutes.
“The smaller airports are certainly the better choice; they offer a much more welcoming atmosphere,” he remarked. “Arriving at 11:30 was fantastic, enjoying some lunch, and then just strolling 10 feet to the airport was quite nice.”
In November 2024, Breeze Airways and Ogden City revealed that commercial flights would be reinstated, leading to significant expansion initiatives in January.
Airport director Brian Condie has announced that the front terminal area is set for significant renovations, which will account for the bulk of the 4.8 million dollars provided by state and federal funding.
“We are focused on enhancing our procedures for managing foreign object debris, maintaining pavement, and ensuring airfield upkeep, which benefits the entire airport and supports the airlines,” he stated. “Our collaboration with the finance department aims to develop a comprehensive business plan focused on enhancing accountability. This includes reviewing rates, fees, and charges, as well as seeking out grants, such as the recent additional grant we received from the state.”
A partnership has been announced between Kemp Jet Services and Avflight at the airport.
“We provide fuel and services for general aviation, assist with car rentals, and ensure our clients are well taken care of during their stay—essentially, we operate as a convenience store for aircraft,” stated Ron Kemp of Kemp Jet Services.
In April, the state legislature published an audit revealing that the airport has incurred losses annually since 2006, suggesting improved management of the facility in preparation for the 2034 Winter Olympics.
