Salt Lake City, Utah – Landon Cheatham, a truck driver, decided he wanted to help after traveling to California and witnessing the state’s situation.

Cheatham, who often travels to California for work at least two or three times a week, posted a need for money in the “Connect Utah” Facebook group in order to fund his return trip to Los Angeles.

And he was inundated with messages and remarks.

According to Cheatham, an operations manager for Alex D. Delivery, “it’s unbelievable.” “I never imagined that a straightforward Facebook post would develop into this, but it has, so we’re going to continue. We will continue to build and assist as many individuals as we can.
In less than a day, more than thirty entrepreneurs from all throughout Utah stepped forward and made their establishment one of several places to drop off food, clothing, toiletries, and other items.

One of those companies is Kahve Cafe, owned by Elif Ekin. According to her, people have been dropping off things nonstop since Saturday.

“Building community is the ultimate goal, regardless of whether you’re in California or Salt Lake City,” Ekin stated. “You know, people are people. You help individuals while they are in pain.

According to Andrea Bennett, proprietor of Annie’s Cafe in Bountiful, a client chose to give a million N24 masks over the phone on Saturday night.

“I have a semi-truck full of N24 masks for you, Annie,” she said. “It goes without saying that we feel strongly about that.”

She also genuinely understands what community means. She claims that a person in California saved her daughter’s life by giving her a liver transplant.

“The community was really helpful to us when I was there with her,” she remarked. “I believe that eventually I will have to give back. I have experienced what it’s like to be in need.

Three sprinter vans and two 53-foot semi-trailers were already full by Sunday afternoon. However, it doesn’t stop there.

“Until the donations stop coming in or California tells us to stop coming in, we won’t stop,” Cheatham stated.

On Sunday, Cheatham drove all of the donated goods to a Los Angeles food pantry. In addition to food, clothing, and hygiene, they are need big cardboard boxes.
