Man attacked woman with knife at a bus stop in West Valley

West Valley City, Utah – A 38-year-old woman attacked by a man with a knife in West Valley City, Sunday night.
West Valley City Police Department reported, on May 22, a 38-year-old woman was at a bus stop near 3800 South and 2200 West, when she was approached by a Native American man in his 40s who brandished a knife.
According to the Police the woman in response motioned her hand to move the knife away and it cut her hand. The woman then rushed to the hospital and after arriving, she called the police.
As the police reported, the investigation is ongoing and and at this time officers are unsure what the reasoning is behind the man pulling out the weapon and whether the parties involved knew each other.
According to the West Valley City Police Department the victims injury is non-life-threatening.
